Summary
Defra Group Property (DgP) manages one of the largest and most diverse property portfolios in Government, supporting the delivery of Defra Group's environmental, scientific, operational and corporate objectives.
The Portfolio Office (PO) is responsible for providing strategic oversight, governance, assurance and portfolio management services across DgP's programmes and projects. The team plays a key role in ensuring that investment decisions are informed, delivery is coordinated and organisational change is effectively implemented across the property portfolio.
As a Portfolio Analyst, you will support the effective management and continuous improvement of DgP's capital investment portfolio. Working within the Portfolio Office, you will help maintain portfolio governance and assurance arrangements, support investment prioritisation activities, provide portfolio insight and analysis, and contribute to the development of a mature and proportionate portfolio management framework.
You will work closely with programme and project teams, senior stakeholders and governance boards to ensure that accurate information supports decision-making and that portfolio processes remain effective, efficient and aligned to organisational priorities.
This role would be ideal for someone with experience in project, programme, portfolio or PMO environments who enjoys working with data, governance and continuous improvement. You may already be supporting delivery teams, managing reporting processes, analysing performance information or coordinating governance activities and be looking to broaden your experience within a strategic portfolio management setting.
The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career within the Project Delivery Profession, gaining exposure to senior decision-making, investment prioritisation, assurance and portfolio management practices across one of the largest and most complex property portfolios in Government. We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can build effective working relationships, challenge constructively, identify opportunities for improvement and translate complex information into meaningful insights that support better decision-making
