You will be joining an established organisation that is continuing to invest in the resilience and reliability of its technology estate. As part of this investment, they are creating a new Technology Resilience Lead to strengthen their approach to disaster recovery, operational resilience and capacity management across cloud and traditional infrastructure environments.
This is an excellent opportunity to join in a newly created role where you will have the scope to shape the resilience function, influence technology strategy and establish best practice across the organisation. The position is remote with monthly meetings in Eastleigh.
Your new role
As Technology Resilience Lead, you will become the organisation's subject matter expert for technology resilience, disaster recovery and capacity management. Working across AWS, Azure and on premises data centre environments, you will play a critical role in ensuring that technology services remain resilient, recoverable and capable of supporting future business requirements.
You will own disaster recovery planning, testing and recovery readiness across critical technology services, leading resilience testing and simulation exercises to validate recovery capabilities and identify potential weaknesses. You will monitor capacity, performance and service dependencies, proactively identifying areas of technology risk and driving improvements across cloud and infrastructure environments.Working closely with infrastructure, cloud, architecture, security and wider technology teams, you will provide expert guidance on resilience and recovery. You will also produce clear reporting and engage with senior stakeholders to support operational resilience, risk management and DORA requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have a strong background within technology operations, infrastructure, cloud, application support, platform engineering, site reliability engineering or a closely related technical discipline. You will bring a practical understanding of disaster recovery, service continuity and technology resilience, ideally gained within an environment running critical or highly available technology services.
Experience working across AWS, Azure and on premises environments would be highly beneficial, together with an understanding of resilience testing, recovery planning, capacity management and service dependencies.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills will be essential. You will be comfortable engaging with both technical specialists and senior business leaders, translating complex technology risks into clear business terms and ensuring that critical services can withstand and recover from disruption when it matters most.
What you'll get in return
This is an opportunity to step into a newly created and highly influential role, giving you the autonomy to help shape the organisation's approach to technology resilience. You will work across a modern, mixed technology estate and have the opportunity to influence resilience strategy while remaining close to the practical and technical aspects of disaster recovery and service continuity.
