This is a fantastic opportunity to use your finance experience within a purpose-led organisation, knowing that strong financial management directly supports the services it can provide to local people. You will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, working closely with the Chief Executive and wider leadership team while managing and supporting a small finance team.

Your new role...

This is a varied, hands-on finance role where you'll oversee the smooth running of the finance function.Responsibilities will include:

Producing monthly management accounts and financial reports

Managing budgets, forecasting and cash flow

Supporting and overseeing a small finance team

Maintaining effective financial controls and processes

Working with managers to help them understand budgets and financial performance

Overseeing key areas including payroll, VAT and balance sheet reconciliations

Supporting year-end accounts and the external audit

Providing financial information to support wider organisational decision-making

What you'll need to succeed...

We are looking for someone with a strong all-round finance background who is comfortable taking ownership of a finance function but still enjoys being hands-on with the numbers.Ideally, you will have the following experience:

Experience producing management accounts, budgets and forecasts

Strong financial management and accounting knowledge

Previous experience supervising or managing others

Good Excel and accounting systems knowledge

Confidence in communicating financial information to non-finance colleagues

Excellent organisation and attention to detail

A finance qualification or substantial relevant experience

An interest in working within a charity or purpose-led organisation

Previous charity finance experience would be beneficial, but the right financial experience and a genuine connection to the organisation's purpose are equally important.
