The Opportunity

We are seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager – BESS with established customer relationships and a proven ability to turn opportunities into orders or signed contracts. This is a hands-on UK B2B role focused on securing commercially viable battery storage business and building long-term customer partnerships.

You will work closely with company leadership and technical colleagues to develop qualified opportunities, shape credible proposals and progress deals from initial engagement through to customer commitment.

Essential requirements

Key Responsibilities • Originate and qualify BESS sales and integration opportunities through an established network of UK customers, decision-makers and commercial partners. • Take ownership of the sales cycle, from initial customer engagement and requirements discovery to proposals, negotiation and securing purchase orders or signed contracts. • Build relationships with relevant commercial and industrial customers, project developers, integrators, EPC contractors and other energy-sector buyers. • Work with technical colleagues to define feasible customer solutions, project scope, commercial assumptions and bid requirements. • Develop customer proposals and tenders, coordinate pricing inputs and manage follow-up actions to progress qualified opportunities. • Maintain a disciplined CRM pipeline with realistic deal values, decision-makers, next steps, expected close dates and conversion reporting. • Develop channel and strategic partner opportunities while following company approval processes, confidentiality obligations and customer-relationship protections. Essential Skills & Experience • Active, demonstrable relationships or established routes to relevant UK BESS or energy infrastructure customers, with the ability to originate qualified commercial opportunities. • Proven personal track record of converting B2B technical sales opportunities into purchase orders, awarded projects or signed customer contracts. • Substantial practical experience in BESS, battery products, energy storage solutions, power infrastructure or closely related technical sales markets. • Ability to engage technical and commercial decision-makers, assess genuine purchasing intent and translate customer requirements into actionable sales proposals. • Experience managing complex sales cycles, negotiations, tenders or commercial agreements, with clear ownership of measurable business outcomes. • Independent, accountable working style; disciplined CRM reporting, commercial judgement and effective collaboration with engineering teams. Desirable Skills & Experience • Existing contacts with UK BESS developers, C&I asset owners, EPCs, OEMs, integrators, data centres or energy infrastructure operators. • Understanding of UK energy infrastructure, grid connections and relevant DNO/DSO, NESO or National Grid interactions. • Knowledge of UK electricity markets, energy flexibility, balancing services, aggregators or route-to-market arrangements. • Awareness of BESS safety, security, project risk, technical standards and applicable regulatory or compliance requirements. • Commercial experience with on-grid, off-grid or microgrid BESS applications, project development, commissioning or operational services. • Experience establishing channel partnerships, supplier relationships or repeatable commercial pipelines in a growing technical business. How to Apply Please send your CV and a brief, non-confidential summary of relevant UK BESS or energy-sector sales achievements. Highlight the customer segments you can reach, your personal role in closing orders or contracts, and indicative outcomes (such as broad deal-size ranges).
