Summary

Quantity Surveyor - Social Housing, Repairs and Maintenance

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 + Package

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

A well-established and growing social housing business is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team in West Yorkshire.

Working across a varied portfolio of responsive repairs, planned works and capital works schemes, this is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor looking to take ownership of projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, responsibilities will include:

Managing project costs

Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment and variations.

Procurement and management of subcontractor packages.

Monitoring project budgets, forecasts and commercial performance.

Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities.

Negotiating subcontractor accounts and final settlements.

Producing cost reports and providing financial updates to senior management.

Working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered within budget.

Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.

About You

Applicants should possess:

Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of repairs and maintenance works.

Experience managing subcontractor procurement and valuations.

Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable

Relevant degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.

Experience working for a social housing provider, main contractor or specialist fit-out contractor.

Membership of, or working towards, a professional body such as RICS.
