People & Talent Manager

Caravan Restaurants & Coffee Roasters

Location: Lambworks, North London, N7 9DP

Salary: competitive

Reporting to: People & Culture Director

Great people. Brilliant teams. Real opportunities to grow.

At Caravan, we believe great hospitality starts with great people.

Since opening our first restaurant in Exmouth Market in 2010, we've grown into a collection of restaurants across London and Manchester, alongside our specialty coffee roastery. We're proudly B Corp Certified and guided by four values:

All Welcome, Well-Travelled, No Boundaries and Caravan of Love.

We're looking for an experienced and passionate

People & Talent Manager to join our People & Culture team and help us deliver our people priorities across the business.

The opportunity

This is a hands-on role for someone who loves people, thrives on getting things done and knows how to turn plans into action.

Working closely with our People & Culture Director, Operations teams and site leaders, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day delivery of our talent management processes, ensuring they are implemented consistently, effectively and with real impact.

From succession planning and performance reviews to career development, onboarding and internal progression, you'll keep our people programmes moving and help our managers deliver a brilliant experience for their teams.

What you'll be doing

  • Talent & succession planning: Manage our talent planning processes, maintain succession plans, identify gaps and ensure agreed actions are followed through.

  • Performance management: Coordinate and deliver performance review cycles, development plans and talent reviews, supporting managers to have effective conversations and maintain accountability.

  • Career development: Manage internal mobility and career progression initiatives, helping our people access opportunities to develop and grow.

  • Talent acquisition: Partner with hiring managers and the People team to support recruitment priorities, consistent selection processes and effective hiring practices.

  • Onboarding: Own the onboarding process for managers and support teams, ensuring site leaders deliver a consistent and engaging experience for new starters.

  • People data & reporting: Maintain accurate talent information, track progress and provide meaningful insights to support decisions and continuous improvement.

  • Culture & inclusion: Ensure our values and commitment to inclusion are reflected in how our people processes are delivered.

About you

We're looking for someone who combines strong people knowledge with a practical, organised and proactive approach.

You'll bring:

  • Experience in talent management or a People/HR generalist role, ideally within hospitality or another fast-paced, multi-site environment.

  • Experience coordinating and delivering talent, performance and development processes.

  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Confidence working with operational managers, building relationships and holding people accountable.

  • A hands-on, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to work independently.

  • The ability to use people data and systems to monitor progress and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • A genuine passion for developing people and creating a positive employee experience.

  • CIPD qualification or working towards a qualification, at any level, desirable but not essential.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who takes ownership, follows through and enjoys making things happen.

What we offer

  • Competitive salary

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a growing hospitality business

  • Leadership development and career progression opportunities

  • Meals and drinks on shift across our locations

  • Dining discount for family and friends

  • Coffee discounts at Caravan Coffee Roasters

  • Financial wellbeing, mental health support and professional mentoring

If you love people, enjoy bringing plans to life and want to help create great opportunities for others, we'd love to hear from you.
