Summary

Interim Procurement Manager

Location: Birmingham, hybrid working - 1 day per week on-site

Rate: Up to £500 per day, Inside IR35

Contract: Interim

We are supporting a large public sector organisation in Birmingham with the appointment of an experienced Interim Procurement Manager to join their Commercial and Procurement function.The role will support the delivery of effective, evidence-based procurement and sourcing activity, helping the organisation achieve value for money while operating within appropriate governance and procurement requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Support the development and delivery of procurement strategies and new sourcing routes.

Support procurement and tendering exercises, providing advice and guidance to internal stakeholders.

Build effective stakeholder relationships and act as a key point of contact for procurement and sourcing queries.

Support supplier performance and risk management through effective collection and use of data.

Support procurement activity in line with governance and assurance requirements.

Contribute to the development of procurement guidance, toolkits and supporting materials.

Identify opportunities to improve procurement practice through systems and technology.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

Strong experience delivering and supporting procurement and sourcing activity.

Experience supporting tendering processes and advising stakeholders on procurement requirements.

Experience preparing contracts and agreements and delivering value for money.

A good understanding of procurement rules, governance and control procedures.

Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Experience using procurement systems and technology.

The ability to interpret information and data to support procurement decisions.

A relevant procurement background, with CIPS qualifications or equivalent professional experience advantageous.
