Summary

Are you a Life Changer? Do you want to transform the life of a child?

At Compass Community, children come first. Through our therapeutic and innovative approach, we support children and young people to achieve positive outcomes. Our values of Integrity, Courage and Care shape how we work. We listen deeply, support one another and work together to make a difference.

Compass Community School Mountfields Park is an independent specialist day school in Loughborough providing high-quality, child-centred education for boys and girls aged 7-17. Our pupils have Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, with many also having additional SEND, including Autism, ADHD and communication difficulties.

As a trauma and attachment-informed organisation, we provide extensive therapeutic training and support to all staff. Our collaborative approach places the child at the centre of decision-making, bringing together education and therapy professionals, parents and carers, local authorities and, most importantly, the young person.

The Role

No two days, and no two children, are the same. Our Teaching Assistants support children with complex needs and challenging behaviours, helping them engage with learning and develop socially and emotionally.

Successful candidates will be resilient, patient, adaptable and solution-focused. They will understand the importance of consistency, communication and positive relationships, while maintaining a non-judgemental approach and responding flexibly to individual needs.

Safeguarding

Compass Community Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.

Successful applicants will be required to obtain an Enhanced DBS Check (or Enhanced Check for Regulated Activity) and will be subject to safer recruitment processes, including social media checks where appropriate.

All staff are responsible for safeguarding and must work in accordance with the school's Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy at all times.
