Summary
Deliver planned and reactive painting and decorating works across the prison estate, maintaining a safe and professional environment.
Ensure all work is completed to high quality standards, meeting compliance and operational requirements.
Maintain and care for tools, materials and company equipment, ensuring they remain fit for purpose.
Work in line with Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments and company procedures.
Support and guide prisoners through painting and decorating activities as part of Amey's rehabilitation-focused CRED programme.
Contribute to the smooth operation of the facilities team by promoting best practice and high standards of workmanship.
Essential requirements
A positive and professional approach, with the ability to work effectively within a secure environment. Confidence working alongside and supporting prisoners in a respectful and constructive manner. Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices, including method statements and risk assessments. Ability to share knowledge and collaborate with colleagues to achieve excellent outcomes. Previous painting and decorating experience within a commercial, industrial or facilities environment. NVQ Level 3 in Painting and Decorating is desirable. Applications from candidates holding NVQ Level 2 will also be considered.
