Summary

Maintain essential building, fire safety and security systems to support a safe and compliant prison environment.

Complete planned checks and testing of fire extinguishers, fire hydrants, fire hoses, smoke vents and emergency lighting.

Carry out fire door maintenance and checks on misting units.

Complete residual current device testing and water temperature checks in accordance with site requirements.

Undertake general tasks associated with CCTV and alarm systems.

Raise, update and close remedial work through the Computer Aided Facilities Management system, maintaining clear and accurate records.

Essential requirements

Practical experience of general building maintenance and compliance activities. Experience of fire door and fire extinguisher maintenance. Experience of emergency lighting, residual current device testing and water temperature testing. Familiarity with fire alarm systems and their core points. Good IT skills and the ability to maintain accurate electronic records. A proactive, safety-focused and collaborative approach to work.
