Summary
1. To prepare and cook the items on the cafe and bar menu.
2. To play an important part of the smooth and efficient operation of the kitchen, café and
bar.
3. To maximise the sale of the most profitable items to the customer in a prompt and
friendly fashion charging the appropriate tariff for the goods or services sold.
4. To adhere to Food Hygiene Regulations 1990, Food Safety Act 1990 and the Health &
Safety at Work Act 1974.
5. To fully endorse the legal requirements of the Licensing Act.
Essential requirements
Skills, Abilities and Knowledge 1. Excellent organisational skills. 2. Able to verbally communicate clearly and effectively e.g. deal with customer queries, dealing with difficult customers, taking orders etc. 3. Able to understand written English e.g. food hygiene Education and Qualifications 1. Valid, current Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering or equivalent or the ability to gain qualification within 6 months of employment policies, receive orders etc 4. Basic numeracy skills, e.g. able to give change, count stock 5. Confident, with a positive can-do attitude 6. Ability to work as part of a team, as well as on own initiative 7. Ability to deliver good customer service 8. Ability to clean to high standards 9. Ability to multi-task 10. Must be committed to and maintain an awareness of equal opportunities
