Summary
As a domiciliary care worker, the role is to provide compassionate, person-centred care and support to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain their independence, dignity, comfort and quality of life. Your responsibilities include assisting with personal care, dressing, bathing, toileting, meal preparation, medication support, and light household tasks. You would also provide emotional support, companionship and assistance with daily activities.
You would monitor clients’ health and well-being, report any changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals, maintain accurate care records, and follow safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, and infection control procedures. Work closely with families and other professionals to ensure each individual receives safe, respectful and high-quality care tailored to their needs.
Essential requirements
MUST BE A DRIVER WITH ACCESS TO OWN CAR You will possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with a caring, patient and compassionate approach. Be able to provide person-centred care, support personal hygiene and mobility, maintain confidentiality, follow care plans, and recognise and report changes in clients’ health. Understand the importance of safeguarding, dignity, independence, infection control and working professionally to ensure the safety and well-being of service users.
