Summary

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Trailer Technician to join their workshop-based team in Carrington, Manchester.

- Basic salary of up to £40,000, dependent on experience

- OTE of approximately £45,000–£50,000+, including overtime paid at 1.5 times the standard rate

Duties of a HGV Trailer Technician:

- As a HGV Trailer Technician, inspect, service and repair trailers to maintain safety and operational performance

- Diagnose EBS faults using HALDEX, WABCO and KNORR-BREMSE systems

- Complete compliance documentation accurately

- Carry out welding, trailer repairs and maintenance work as required

- Work on axle and brake systems, tail lifts, double-deck trailers and lifting decks

- Follow all workshop health and safety procedures

- Participate in training covering IRTEC, tail lift, BPW and SAF systems

- Deliver high standards of customer service while meeting deadlines

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a HGV Trailer Technician or Trailer Technician within the automotive or transport industry

- Recognised industry qualifications, such as City & Guilds or NVQ

- EBS diagnostics experience, ideally with HALDEX, WABCO or KNORR-BREMSE

- Experience with trailer axle, brake and tail lift systems

- Welding experience or certification is advantageous

- HGV Class 1 driving licence is desirable

- A HGV Trailer Technician must demonstrate a professional approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
