Working within Digital, AI and Platform Services, you'll collaborate with colleagues across the University to develop user-facing applications, workflow solutions, integrations and digital experiences that improve how people learn, work and engage with their services. You'll also help shape how AI is applied in a responsible, effective and sustainable way, supporting innovation while ensuring solutions are secure, accessible and fit for purpose.

What You'll Do:

- Work with stakeholders to understand challenges, define requirements and develop practical, user-centred solutions.

- Develop and maintain integrations, APIs and automated processes that connect systems and streamline services.

- Design, develop and support AI-enabled applications and workflows, helping move successful ideas from prototype into production.

- Collaborate with academic, digital and technology teams to identify opportunities where digital products and AI can enhance learning, teaching and operational processes.

- Use a range of development approaches and technologies to deliver solutions efficiently, selecting the most appropriate tool for each challenge.

- Build security, accessibility, privacy and resilience into solutions from the outset, ensuring they meet organisational standards and best practice.

- Monitor product performance, usage and feedback, using insights to drive continuous improvement and future development.

- Contribute to software engineering best practice, including testing, documentation, release management and ongoing support.

- Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities, helping identify opportunities that can deliver meaningful benefits for students, colleagues and the wider University.

What You'll Bring:

- Experience designing, building and supporting digital products, web applications or software solutions within a professional environment.

- Strong development experience using modern technologies such as C#/.NET, TypeScript / JavaScript or similar platforms and frameworks.

- Experience working with APIs, integrations, authentication and data flows across multiple systems.

- Practical experience developing, integrating or prototyping AI-enabled solutions, automations or intelligent workflows.

- An understanding of software development lifecycles, including discovery, testing, deployment, support and continuous improvement.

- Knowledge of secure software development, accessibility, data protection and user-focused design principles.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate user needs into effective technical solutions.

- Experience using product insights, service data and user feedback to inform development decisions and improve outcomes.

- The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences and build positive working relationships across teams.
