Summary

We are seeking Management Accountant Trainee within our Financial Management/reporting Team. The job involves assisting the Finance Manager, Finance Analyst and Management Accountant in the provision of a complete, professional financial service to a range of Sites/Departments, providing timely and accurate financial support and advice through the provision of robust monitoring information.

The aim of the role is to provide support to the Management Accountant in the provision of accurate and timely financial reporting and advice to a number of directorates, through the application of regular analysis and ad hoc tasks.

You will be required to work a significant proportion of their time (more than 80%) using computer applications. The computer applications used include the software packages Excel, Word, Access, Oracle, Business Intelligence and our Trust payroll system ESR.

• The post holder will be expected to engage with a variety of staff both within and outside of the Trust and at different levels.

• To assist with the production of accurate and timely financial performance reports from systems to support the financial management decisions by the Trust

• Ensure that that all relevant income and expenditure is accurately reported in the financial statements of the Trust in accordance with monthly reporting timetables

• Support service with changes and recruitment of staffing. This will involve working with the service, Management Accountants and Deputy Finance Business Partners to ensure these are actioned, challenged and appropriately approved in a timely manner

• Support the service and Financial services team with resolution of coding of invoices where appropriate

• To perform a program of analysis work as appropriate to each Service and to assist in ensuring that the program remains up to date. This will include reports with the use of Power BI reports, pivot tables, graphs and tables

• To provide financial advice and assistance as required, to other finance staff, budget holders and external customers on matters arising

• To assist with the preparation of budget setting, particularly with regards to the validation of staff in post and the costing of those staff
