Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant looking for your next opportunity?I'm recruiting for a fantastic business based on the outskirts of Middlesbrough who are looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their finance team on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a varied, hands-on accounting role and wants to take real ownership of the month-end process while working closely with an experienced Finance Manager.
What will you be doing?
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Preparation and posting of monthly journals
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations
- Managing intercompany reconciliations and recharges
- Preparing VAT reconciliations and submissions
- Working closely with the Finance Manager on a variety of ad hoc tasks between month-end close periods
- Supporting with ad hoc finance projects and process improvements
What are we looking for?
- Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant, Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong experience supporting the month-end process
- Good knowledge of balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
- Confidence working with journals and VAT
- Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail
- A proactive approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a wider finance team
Part-qualified accountants or candidates who are AAT qualified / qualified by experience would also be encouraged to apply.
