Summary

Lead our in- house PAT team and keep electrical equipment safe, compliant and ready for hire.

IPS is seeking a hands-on Portable Appliance Test (PAT) Supervisor to lead our in -house PAT team based

in our warehouse, you will oversee the annual inspection and testing schedule for electrical equipment.

Working closely with the Workshop and Service Manager and other departments, you will ensure

equipment is tested accurately, recorded correctly and available for hire.

What you’ll be doing

Lead, plan and coordinate the PAT team to meet testing targets and schedules

Maintain the annual PAT schedule and ensure certification remains valid

Carry out hands-on testing and inspection in line with safety requirements

Operate Datastrategy QC testing machines and maintain accurate system records

Ensure equipment is labelled correctly and test data is recorded in rental software

Train and support team members in PAT processes, equipment use and safety

Report faults and trends, and coordinate equipment flow with other departments

Improve testing efficiency, data accuracy and compliance reporting

Essential requirements

You will be an organised, safety-focused supervisor with PAT experience, strong attention to detail and the ability to motivate a small team while remaining actively involved in testing. Experience carrying out or supervising PAT; a formal qualification is desirable Strong planning skills and confidence managing testing schedules across large inventories Ability to lead, motivate and develop a small team Excellent communication, record-keeping and analytical skills Competent Microsoft 365 user with a methodical, proactive approach. Physically fit, self-motivated and committed to safety and quality Desirable: Datastrategy QC, HireTrack, electrical safety or live events equipment experience
