A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DUTY MANAGER

No two days are the same! As Duty Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the hotel, ensuring our guests enjoy a welcoming, comfortable, and memorable stay.

What you’ll be doing:

Welcoming our guests: Managing check-ins and check-outs, ensuring accurate billing, and delivering a warm, friendly welcome from arrival to departure.

Creating a great bar experience: Serving drinks and providing friendly, attentive service to our guests.

Leading the shift: Taking responsibility for the smooth running of hotel operations and supporting the team throughout each shift.

Supporting food and beverage: Working alongside colleagues to deliver excellent service at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Preparing for successful events: Ensuring conference rooms are set up and ready for organisers and delegates to arrive.

Keeping everything running smoothly: Coordinating with housekeeping and maintenance teams to manage room availability and resolve issues efficiently.

Delivering exceptional standards: Maintaining high standards of service and creating a positive atmosphere, even during busy and high-pressure periods.

Supporting your team: Leading by example, communicating effectively, and helping colleagues deliver their best every day.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

You’ll ideally have:

A passion for people: Previous experience in front desk, reception, guest services, or a similar customer-facing role.

Leadership potential: Experience supporting or supervising a team, with the confidence to take ownership and lead by example.

Excellent communication skills: A friendly, professional approach and the ability to build positive relationships with guests and colleagues.

A natural problem-solver: Someone who stays calm under pressure, thinks on their feet, and finds practical solutions.

Strong organisational skills: Attention to detail when managing reservations, guest requests, billing, and daily operations.

A team-first attitude: Someone who enjoys working collaboratively and creating a supportive environment for everyone.

Confidence and initiative: The ability to make quick, sensible decisions and take responsibility when needed.

Flexibility and enthusiasm: A positive, adaptable approach and the energy to thrive in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Most importantly, you’ll care about the little things that make a big difference to our guests and take pride in helping create a fantastic hotel experience.
