Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Integrated Therapy Assistant (ITA) to join the Clifton Therapy Team.

The post holder will be a key member of the multidisciplinary Clifton therapy team, supporting the delivery of high quality, patient centred care for patients admitted to the rehabilitation wards at Clifton Hospital.

Working primarily with patients in a rehabilitation ward setting, the postholder will work under the supervision of qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists, contributing to the assessment, treatment and ongoing rehabilitation of patients with multiple co-morbidities.

The ITA will carry out delegated therapy interventions, monitor and record patient progress, assist with functional assessments and ensure that therapy areas and equipment are prepared and maintained to a high standard.

The postholder will also support data collection, patient documentation and administrative tasks necessary for efficient service delivery.

While the role is primarily ward based, there will be an expectation to provide check visits of therapy equipment at patients property.

This post offers an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to contribute to the recovery and  wellbeing of patients within a rehabilitation setting.

Under the supervision of a qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist, and working within established guidelines, the post holder will be expected to:

·         Be responsible for a carrying out a range of clinical interventions as allocated by a Physiotherapist or the Occupational therapist.

·         Provide a flexible, client centred intervention to facilitate discharge into the community setting.

·      To provide a rehabilitation programme, as planned by a qualified Physiotherapist and/or Occupational therapist, in collaboration with the client and significant others.

·         To support and progress the programme of rehabilitation on the wards with the aim of maximising independence and facilitating discharge of patients.

·         Assess for & issue specific equipment to facilitate activities of daily living.

·         Working without direct supervision to undertake a variety of non-clinical tasks to support the therapy service.

We are a busy multidisciplinary team who work collaboratively across all wards within Clifton Hospital.

We enjoy a varied and interesting workload and support one another to achieve the best outcomes for our patients and to discharge the patient safely to their home environment.

Current operational hours are Monday to Sunday, between 08:00 - 16:00 (Weekend working is on a rota basis, normally 1 in 5 weekends).

Please see the attached Job Description and Person Specification documents for further details about the role.
