Timber Production Operative – Immediate Start | LE9, Leicestershire

We’re recruiting for a Timber Production Operative to join a busy team based in the LE9 area of Leicestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent position with consistent working hours, regular overtime opportunities, and the potential to develop your skills and progress within the business.
We’re looking for someone who isn’t afraid of hard work, has a positive attitude, and takes pride in what they do. You’ll need to be physically fit, comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, and willing to go the extra mile when overtime is required.
What does the role involve?
• Handling, moving, and processing timber and other materials.
• Assisting with the assembly and manufacture of timber products.
• Operating hand tools and power tools safely.
• Supporting the day-to-day running of production operations.
• Checking finished products to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Keeping work areas clean, tidy, and safe.
• Following all relevant health and safety procedures.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to meet production targets.
• Carrying out manual handling and other physically demanding duties.
• Working additional hours when required to support business demands.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work and thrives in a busy environment. You’ll need to be dependable, motivated, and ready to get stuck in, whatever the weather.

Previous experience in timber, labouring, construction, manufacturing, or production is highly desirable.
We’re particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate:
• Experience working with timber or in a practical, labour-intensive role.
• Confidence using hand tools and/or power tools.
• A strong work ethic and a willingness to get involved in all aspects of the job.
• The ability to undertake physically demanding work.
• A flexible approach to working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
• An understanding of workplace health and safety.
• A willingness to work overtime when required.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Previous FLT experience would be beneficial but is not essential.

• Basic hourly rate: £16.56 per hour.
• Overtime rate: £24.84 per hour for hours worked over 40 hours per week.
• Pay progression: Following a successful probationary period, there may be an opportunity for a discretionary, performance-related pay increase.
• Holiday entitlement: Accrued up to 28 days per year, pro rata.
