Job Title: FLT Driver with additional Lead Operative duties
Salary: £14.00 per hour
Hours: 08:00 - 17:00, Monday - Friday
Your role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced FLT Driver to join our Manufacturing team at our Rainham site.
This role is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a counterbalance forklift truck to move raw materials and finished goods across site. This includes loading and unloading vehicles, supplying production areas, and supporting kiln operations where required. All FLT activities must be carried out in line with Standard Operating Procedures and site Health & Safety guidelines.
You will be responsible for completing daily pre-use checks, reporting any defects, and ensuring that materials such as timber, pallets, and packaging are readily available to support production and maintain customer quality standards. As an experienced FLT Driver, you will hold a valid counterbalance FLT licence, demonstrate a high level of Health & Safety awareness, and have excellent attention to detail.
In addition to your FLT duties, you will support the wider manufacturing operation as a Lead Operative. This includes carrying out repair and recovery of pallets safely and accurately using the appropriate equipment, while working efficiently to maximise output and meet customer standards and design specifications. You will ensure smooth transitions between bench setups, maintaining both quality standards and required output levels at all times.
You will also provide cover for the Team Lead during holidays and absences to maintain operational continuity.
This is a multi-skilled role requiring flexibility and a proactive approach to support operational needs across the site.
A positive, can-do attitude and strong communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work collaboratively and professionally with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
