Summary
We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Front of House/Barista team members to join our brand-new, purpose-built fitness and wellbeing centre in Nelson, Lancashire. This is an exciting opportunity to help create a welcoming environment for members and visitors while serving high-quality drinks, snacks and refreshments.
As a Front of House/Barista, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing excellent customer service, preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, handling payments, maintaining a clean and organised café and reception area, and supporting the day-to-day operation of the centre. You will play an important role in ensuring every visitor receives a warm welcome and positive experience.
This is a part-time position, with working hours to be discussed and agreed during the interview process.
Essential requirements
Essential: Excellent customer service and communication skills Experience in a customer-facing role, such as hospitality, retail, leisure or food service Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment Friendly, professional and approachable manner Good cash handling and basic numeracy skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings, weekends and holiday periods where required Desirable: Previous barista experience Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or equivalent) Experience operating tills or point-of-sale systems Experience working in a café, coffee shop, leisure centre or similar environment Knowledge of a range of hot and cold drinks preparation techniques Personal Qualities: Passionate about delivering outstanding customer experiences Reliable, punctual and professional Positive attitude with a willingness to learn Well-presented and personable Able to remain calm and organised during busy periods Enthusiastic about contributing to the success of a brand-new fitness and wellbeing facility in Nelson, Lancashire.
