Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an aspiring Registered Nurse.

We are seeking a passionate, enthusiastic, registered nurse to join Ward 27 at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital as a Band 6 Sister Charge Nurse.

The successful candidate should have proven leadership skills and be driven and enthusiastic and be dedicated to ensuring that good quality care is delivered to all our patients.

The wards specialise in the care of patients who typically have multiple medical conditions and often require specialist support at home or in care homes. Ward 27 is a 39 bedded ward. We have medical teams led by a team of consultants specialising in the care of the adults.

The Ward team consist of a Ward Manager, Ward Sisters and a team of Registered Nurses, Nurse Associates, Health Care Assistants, Ward Clerk and Housekeeper who are passionate about the speciality and place the needs of the patients first.

• To function as a competent clinical practitioner within their designated clinical area. To deliver direct patient care whilst, co-ordinating and supporting other team members.

• To be responsible for ensuring the delivery of clinical activities during their span of duty.

• To ensure that there is efficient and effective utilisation of resources to deliver optimum quality care to their client group.

• To deputise for the ward/ department manager in his / her absence, driving forward evidence based practice and taking responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within their clinical area.

• To work flexibly to meet the needs of the service.
