Three Days a Week. One Opportunity to Make a Real Difference.

Are you a Psychology, Criminology, Sports Science or Education graduate looking to gain meaningful experience supporting young people who need a different approach to learning?

KPI Education is recruiting a Graduate Behaviour Mentor to join a specialist Alternative Provision setting in Stockport, working three days per week.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring teacher, educational psychologist, youth worker or SEN specialist who wants to develop practical experience while making a genuine difference to vulnerable young people.

You'll be supporting pupils who may have experienced difficulties in mainstream education, helping them rebuild confidence, manage emotions and rediscover their potential.

The Opportunity

As a Graduate Behaviour Mentor, you'll play an important role in creating a positive, structured and supportive learning environment.

Working alongside experienced teaching and pastoral staff, you'll help pupils overcome barriers to education and develop the confidence to succeed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing tailored 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

• Developing positive relationships with young people who may display challenging behaviour.

• Supporting emotional regulation, resilience and positive decision-making.

• Encouraging engagement with academic, practical and enrichment activities.

• Acting as a positive role model, promoting respect, confidence and independence.

• Supporting pupils who may have experienced trauma, exclusion or disrupted education.

• Working collaboratively with teaching staff to implement individual support strategies.

Who Would Suit This Role?

We're looking for someone with energy, empathy and a genuine desire to support young people who need additional guidance.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold a degree in Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, Education, Sports Science or a related subject.

• Have a genuine passion for alternative education, SEN and inclusion.

• Demonstrate patience, emotional resilience and strong communication skills.

• Be confident supporting pupils who may display challenging behaviour.

• Understand the importance of consistency, boundaries and positive relationships.

• Ideally have experience in youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, tutoring or education.

• Be able to commit to three days per week on a long-term basis.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle would be advantageous.

Previous classroom experience is not essential. We're particularly interested in graduates who have the personality, determination and commitment to make a positive impact.

Why Apply?

This isn't simply a part-time graduate job. It's an opportunity to develop valuable professional experience in a specialist educational environment.

What you'll gain:

• Competitive pay equivalent to £24,000–£26,000 per annum, pro rata.

• A consistent three-day working week.

• Valuable experience supporting young people with SEMH and additional needs.

• Exposure to alternative education and specialist behaviour support.

• An excellent foundation for careers in Educational Psychology, Teaching, SEN, Youth Work or Social Work.

• The satisfaction of helping young people overcome barriers and achieve personal success.
