Summary

Regional Construction Group (RCG) is recruiting a reliable, hands-on Cleaner / Caretaker in Liverpool. This full-time role combines cleaning and day-to-day caretaking to keep the premises clean, safe, secure and well presented.

Salary: £30,000 per annum.

Hours: 40 hours per week, with working days and times to be agreed.

Location: Liverpool.

Start: January 2027, exact date to be agreed.

Key duties include:

• Cleaning communal areas, entrances, corridors, stairwells and other designated spaces to a high standard.

• Vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting surfaces and cleaning frequently touched areas.

• Cleaning shared toilets, washrooms and kitchen areas where provided.

• Emptying bins, managing waste areas and removing litter from designated areas.

• Carrying out regular building inspections and reporting maintenance defects, damage, leaks and safety concerns promptly.

• Undertaking minor maintenance and basic repairs within your skills and authorisation, referring specialist work to the office.

• Monitoring the condition and security of doors, locks and communal areas.

• Keeping access routes and fire exits clear and reporting any obstructions or hazards.

• Providing access for authorised contractors and helping coordinate maintenance visits.

• Liaising professionally with building users, contractors and the RCG office.

• Maintaining records of cleaning, inspections, maintenance issues and incidents.

• Monitoring stocks of cleaning products and keeping equipment and storage areas tidy and secure.

• Following health and safety procedures and using cleaning products and equipment correctly.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, uses their initiative and can organise their day effectively. You will be a practical point of contact on site, resolving everyday issues within your remit and seeking support from the office when needed.

Essential requirements

Experience in commercial or communal cleaning, caretaking or facilities support is desirable. Applicants should have: • Good cleaning skills and attention to detail. • Basic maintenance and DIY skills, with an understanding of when work requires a qualified tradesperson. • Awareness of safe working practices and the correct use of cleaning products and equipment. • A reliable, punctual and responsible approach. • The ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and keep accurate records. • Good communication skills and a courteous, professional manner. • The ability to identify and report defects and safety concerns clearly. • The ability to carry out the practical duties of the role safely.
