The Role

We are looking for a caring, friendly and reliable Domestic / Home Help Assistant to support service users in their own homes. This is a varied and rewarding role that combines practical household assistance with companionship and meaningful relationship-building.

Working hours are flexible and will be arranged around your availability and the requirements of our service users.

Essential requirements

Key Responsibilities Responsibilities will vary depending on the individual but may include: General cleaning and sanitising of living areas Vacuuming, mopping and dusting Emptying household bins Shopping and collecting essential items Assisting with light household tasks Providing companionship and social interaction Spending time getting to know service users and building positive relationships Supporting individuals to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable home environment About You We are looking for someone who is: Caring, compassionate and friendly Outgoing and approachable Reliable and trustworthy Able to work independently and use their own initiative Person-centred in their approach Detail-oriented with a keen eye for cleanliness and organisation Respectful of people's homes, preferences and routines A strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills Transport A driving licence and access to transport would be beneficial; however, this is not essential. Many visits can be completed on foot or by public transport, as cleaning products and equipment are supplied by each service user. Why Join Blue Star?
