What skills and experience we're looking for
Are you handy, proactive, and passionate about keeping physical spaces safe and in top shape? Following the upcoming retirement of our long-standing caretaker, Worthinghead Primary School is looking for a dependable School Caretaker to care for our school building, grounds, and facilities.
At Worthinghead, our motto is "Be Kind, Work Hard and Grow". We take immense pride in our vibrant learning spaces - from our bright classrooms to our outdoor grounds and Green Wood Forest area. We are seeking an exceptional professional who shares this pride and upholds uncompromisingly high standards for the safety, security, and maintenance of our premises.
What we are looking for:
The successful candidate will be someone who:
• Has proven practical experience as a caretaker, handyperson, or site manager - ideally within an educational or community environment.
• Possesses a strong knowledge of general building repairs and maintenance, including basic plumbing, decorating, and outdoor grounds upkeep.
• Is a proactive problem solver who can prioritise conflicting tasks, work independently under their own initiative, and approach daily site duties with a flexible, "can-do" attitude.
• Is an excellent communicator and team player who can build positive, respectful relationships with staff, children, parents, visitors, and contractors.
