Summary

Location: Rochdale

Sector: Secondary Education / Alternative Provision

Educato Recruitment is working with a secondary alternative provision in Rochdale to recruit a Behaviour Support Assistant to support pupils who may have experienced difficulties within mainstream education.

This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference to young people who need consistency, patience and the right support to re-engage with learning. Pupils may present with challenging behaviour, difficulties with emotional regulation, disengagement from education or social and emotional needs that can affect their day-to-day learning.

We're looking for someone who can build positive relationships whilst maintaining clear boundaries and expectations. You'll need to be confident responding to challenging situations, remaining calm under pressure and recognising that behaviour can often be a form of communication.

Who would suit this role?

We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in secondary schools, alternative provision, PRUs, SEMH settings or other environments where behaviour support is a key part of the role.

Experience in youth work, mentoring, residential care or supporting young people with additional needs may also be relevant.

You'll need to be patient, resilient and adaptable, with the confidence to maintain boundaries whilst treating pupils fairly and respectfully. A consistent approach and the ability to build relationships are just as important as previous experience.
