Summary

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Trauma & Orthopaedic Department within Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. This is a fantastic entry point for anyone looking to start or grow a career in NHS administration.

The role sits within our friendly and supportive administrative team and offers the chance to work across the Orthopaedic service at MSE. We are also open to considering job share arrangements, providing flexibility to suit different circumstances.

In return for your commitment, you’ll enjoy excellent NHS benefits, including a generous holiday allowance, a brilliant pension scheme, and the chance to work alongside a dedicated and welcoming team.

We’re looking for someone with a positive, “can-do” attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn. Good keyboard skills and basic computer knowledge are essential, but most importantly, you’ll bring enthusiasm and a proactive approach to supporting our patients and clinical teams.

If you’re ready to take on a rewarding role with plenty of opportunities to develop, we’d love to hear from you.

The post holder will provide efficient administrative support by responding to telephone and face‑to‑face enquiries, ensuring patients and colleagues receive clear and timely information.

They will be responsible for booking new and follow‑up fracture clinic appointments, accurately recording clinic outcomes, and carrying out essential filing and scanning tasks.

A sound understanding of 18‑week pathways is required to support smooth patient journeys.

When speaking with patients, the post holder will review and update all demographic details to ensure the Electronic Patient Record remains accurate, including confirming current contact information, address and GP details.

Our ambition is to deliver excellent local and specialist services, to improve the health and well being of our patients, and provide a vibrant place for staff to develop, innovate and build careers.

We aim to make the most of our skills and experiences so we can become the best we can be. As one organisation we will recruit the finest and retain more specialist staff due to more employment opportunities across our Trust.
