Summary

Key Responsibilities Support the Practice Manager with the smooth and effective running of the practice. Deputise for the Practice Manager during periods of absence. Provide day-to-day leadership and support to reception, administration and wider non-clinical teams. Help maintain effective policies, procedures, governance systems and regulatory compliance, including CQC requirements. Support service improvement projects, workflow redesign and the implementation of new systems. Build positive working relationships with GP Partners, staff, patients, the Primary Care Network and external organisations. Finance Responsibilities Support the preparation, monitoring and review of practice budgets and cash flow. Maintain accurate financial records and oversee routine bookkeeping processes. Manage purchase and sales ledgers, supplier invoices, payments and credit control. Support payroll preparation, pensions administration and associated reconciliations. Monitor income from NHS contracts, enhanced services, PCN activity, claims and private work. Complete monthly bank, income and expenditure reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Produce clear financial reports for the Practice Manager and GP Partners. Liaise with accountants, commissioners, suppliers and other external advisers. Support year-end processes, financial forecasting, procurement and the identification of cost efficiencies. Help ensure robust financial controls, confidentiality and compliance with relevant legal and NHS requirements.
