So…. What is this role exactly?

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Fire Actions Programme Manager to lead the delivery of our fire safety compliance programme, ensuring the safety of our residents, customers and colleagues.

Reporting to the Fire Safety Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of Fire Risk Assessments (FRAs), Fire Door Inspections (FDIs), associated remedial works and fire safety assurance activities across our housing portfolio.

You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, Fire Safety (England) Regulations and other relevant legislation, whilst driving continuous improvement and promoting a positive fire safety culture throughout the organisation.

What will my working week look like?

Whilst you will be expected to undertake work from home, your role requires varying periods working on patch and other ad hoc locations supporting the Group’s customers.

You will also need to be based within a reasonable travelling distance of our Head Office in Birchwood, Warrington to attend meetings and training courses when needed.

What will I be responsible for doing?

As Fire Actions Programme Manager, you will play a key role in delivering the Group's fire safety strategy and compliance framework. Working closely with the Fire Safety Manager, you will help ensure compliance with all relevant fire safety legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

You will lead the delivery of fire risk assessment and fire door inspection programmes, overseeing remedial action plans to ensure risks are effectively managed and compliance standards are maintained. The role also involves providing expert fire safety advice, monitoring performance and compliance metrics, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

Working collaboratively with customers, contractors, regulators, and internal teams, you will promote a positive fire safety culture, build strong stakeholder relationships, and support the Group in meeting its commitment to keeping residents, colleagues, and properties safe.

And what would make

me stand out from the crowd?

To be a successful Fire Actions Programme Manager, here at YHG, you'll bring a relevant fire safety, building safety or related professional qualification, alongside a commitment to continuing professional development. You'll have strong experience of managing fire safety within residential buildings, with a sound understanding of fire safety legislation, guidance and best practice.

We're looking for someone who has experience procuring and managing fire safety contracts, working collaboratively with Fire & Rescue Services and overseeing inspections, audits and quality assurance activities. You'll be confident using performance data and KPIs to drive improvements, and have a good understanding of landlord compliance, asset management and wider health and safety requirements, including CDM Regulations.

Most importantly, you'll be someone who can effectively investigate issues, identify solutions and drive positive outcomes, ensuring high standards of safety, compliance and customer service are consistently achieved.

This role is suited to someone who enjoys building strong relationships, communicating effectively with a wide range of people and working collaboratively to achieve positive outcomes. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment where you can stay organised, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality results. You'll also enjoy using data, technology and regulatory knowledge to drive compliance, solve problems and support continuous improvement.
