Summary
Yard Operative
Location: Derwent Way, Wath West Industrial Estate, Wath-upon-Dearne, S63
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (30-minute unpaid break)
Overtime Rates:
- Overtime after 8 hours per day paid at
- Saturdays paid at
- Sundays paid at
time and a half
time and a half
double time
Please note that candidates MUST pass a drug and alcohol test prior to starting and agree to random testing throughout employment.
Yard Operative Required
We are currently recruiting for a
Yard Operative to join a busy recycling facility based in Wath-upon-Dearne. This is a
temporary to permanent opportunity offering long-term work with the potential for a permanent contract for the right candidate.
The role will involve working both
indoors and outdoors within the recycling yard, supporting the day-to-day operation and ensuring the site is kept safe, organised and running efficiently.
Duties will include:
- General yard duties across the recycling facility
- Sorting and segregating recyclable materials
- Loading and unloading vehicles
- Moving materials around the yard safely
- Keeping the yard clean, tidy and free from hazards
- Assisting with waste management and recycling processes
- Supporting machine operators and other site personnel as required
- Following all health and safety procedures at all times
- Working as part of a team to maintain site productivity
The ideal candidate will:
- Have previous experience in a yard operative, recycling, warehouse, production or industrial environment
- Be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Be reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
- Be physically fit and happy to undertake a hands-on role
- Be able to follow instructions and work independently when required
- Be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
