Structural Engineer
Location: Central London
Salary: £50,000 + Benefits
Working Pattern: 3 days per week in the London office
Type: Permanent
Sector: Structural Engineering | Façade Engineering | Structural Glass
The Opportunity
I am currently working with a highly regarded specialist structural and façade engineering practice based in Central London, who are looking to appoint a talented Structural Engineer / Project Engineer to join their growing team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer who is currently working towards chartership and wants to develop their career within a genuinely specialist and technically innovative engineering environment.
The practice works on a diverse portfolio of architecturally driven and technically challenging projects, spanning structural engineering, façade engineering and specialist structural glass. Their work ranges from bespoke structures and complex façade projects through to major public, commercial and international projects.
You will have the opportunity to work closely with architects, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams, playing an active role in developing innovative engineering solutions from concept through to delivery.
The Role
Undertake structural analysis, design and engineering calculations across a range of projects.
Develop structural solutions using materials including steel, concrete, timber and structural glass.
Produce technical calculations, reports, drawings and design information.
Work closely with architects and multidisciplinary teams to develop practical and innovative design solutions.
Assist with projects from initial concept and feasibility through to detailed design and construction.
Take increasing responsibility for project delivery and client interaction.
Contribute to technically complex and bespoke engineering projects.
Continue developing towards Chartered Engineer status, with the opportunity to gain experience across a broad range of structural engineering disciplines.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Ideally 2+ years' relevant structural engineering experience.
Experience within a structural engineering consultancy environment.
Strong structural analysis and design capabilities.
Good knowledge of relevant UK design standards.
Experience with structural design software and engineering calculations.
A genuine interest in innovative, complex and design-led engineering.
Currently working towards, or intending to work towards, Chartered Engineer status.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers and clients.
Why Join?
This is an opportunity to join a small, specialist and highly creative engineering practice where engineers have genuine involvement in the design process rather than simply delivering standardised solutions.
You will gain exposure to:
Complex and architecturally driven structural projects.
Specialist structural glass and façade engineering.
Bespoke and innovative engineering solutions.
Internationally recognised projects and clients.
Close collaboration with leading architects and multidisciplinary teams.
A supportive environment for professional development and chartership.
The company is looking for someone with the ambition to develop technically and take on greater responsibility as they progress towards chartership.
If you're a Structural Engineer currently working towards chartership and are looking for a more specialist, design-led environment where you can develop your career, I'd be keen to hear from you.
