Summary

Join a growing Healthcare SME as a Pharmaceutical Sales Manager in Southampton.

The pharmaceutical sector in the UK has spent the last few years tightening its grip on evidence-based selling, and NHS procurement teams now expect reps who understand outcomes data as well as they understand a formulary. This growing Healthcare SME has built a reputation on exactly that kind of commercial discipline. A Pharmaceutical Sales Manager who can hold their own with clinicians and pull a sales team together will find plenty to get stuck into here.

Here's what you'll be doing:

Lead a regional sales team covering key accounts across the South, with Southampton as your base

Build and maintain relationships with GPs, hospital pharmacists and NHS procurement leads

Set territory targets and track performance against them, adjusting tactics when the numbers say you need to

Run product launches and training sessions so your team can speak confidently on efficacy and safety data

Report on pipeline and market conditions to senior leadership, flagging risks before they become problems

Keep an eye on compliance. ABPI code adherence isn't optional in this line of work

Here are the skills you'll need:

Several years of pharmaceutical or medical sales experience, ideally with some line management under your belt

A working grasp of NHS structures and procurement, or the willingness to learn them fast

Sharp commercial instincts. You should be comfortable reading a P&L as well as a clinical study

Strong communication skills across very different audiences, from consultants to internal finance teams

A full UK driving licence, since this role involves regular travel around the region

Resilience. Not every meeting goes your way, and a good Pharmaceutical Sales Manager doesn't let one bad quarter derail the next

Key perks and benefits:

£45,500 to £58,500 depending on experience, plus bonus scheme

Hybrid working, so you're not tied to a desk in Southampton every day

Private medical insurance and pension contribution

Generous annual leave with flexible working built in

Genuine progression within a company that's still growing, not one that's stood still for a decade

Why pursue a career in Healthcare?

Healthcare sales rewards people who can combine commercial nous with genuine clinical understanding, and demand for that combination isn't slowing down. Southampton's position as a hub for NHS trusts and private healthcare providers makes it a smart base for anyone building a long-term career in the sector. Step into a Pharmaceutical Sales Manager role now and you're setting yourself up for years of relevance, not a short-term win.
