Summary

An exceptional opportunity for a senior Applied AI Researcher to shape the future of AI & Technology in London.

Enterprise AI teams are past the experimentation phase. Budgets are bigger, deployments are real, and the pressure to ship models that actually hold up in production has never been higher. This is an established industry leader in the AI & Technology space, a large organisation (250+ employees) with the infrastructure and appetite to back serious research with serious resources. They need an Applied AI Researcher who can bridge the gap between academic rigour and shipped product.

Here's what you'll be doing:

Designing and running experiments to test new model architectures and training approaches against real business problems

Translating research papers and emerging techniques into working prototypes within weeks, not quarters

Partnering with engineering teams to move successful models from notebook to production infrastructure

Evaluating model performance, bias and failure modes before anything reaches customers

Presenting findings and recommendations to technical leadership and non-technical stakeholders alike

Mentoring junior researchers and setting technical standards across the AI function

Here are the skills you'll need:

A strong track record in applied machine learning, ideally with published work or shipped models to point to

Fluency in Python and at least one major deep learning framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow)

Solid grounding in statistics and experimental design. You should know when a result is real and when it's noise

Experience taking models from research to production, including the messy parts

The judgement to know when a "good enough" solution beats a perfect one that never ships

Clear communication skills. You'll need to explain technical trade-offs to people who don't live in the maths

Key perks and benefits:

Salary of £73,000 to £113,000, depending on experience

Hybrid working, based in London with flexibility on office days

Private medical and dental insurance

Enhanced pension scheme and performance-based bonuses

A comprehensive benefits package built for people who plan to stay a while

Why pursue a career in AI & Technology?

The field rewards people who can actually deliver, not just theorise. London remains one of the strongest hubs in Europe for AI & Technology talent, with enterprise budgets that keep growing even as smaller players struggle. An Applied AI Researcher who can consistently ship working models will never be short of options, in London or anywhere else.
