Summary

A well-established and highly profitable privately owned logistics business with a long trading history, established customer relationships and a stable, experienced team.

Your new role

Reporting directly to the business owner, you will take responsibility for the finance function and help ensure the wider business processes run efficiently.You will manage the P&L and balance sheet, produce monthly management accounts and oversee purchasing, suppliers, stock, payments and financial controls. You will also have responsibility for managing and supporting the existing team. A key part of the role will be reviewing existing processes and identifying ways to simplify, automate and improve them through modern technology and AI. You will also act as a key point of contact for external accountants and HMRC and oversee relevant packaging and regulatory compliance requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or qualified by experience, with strong hands-on financial management experience. You will be confident managing a P&L and balance sheet and comfortable getting involved in the day-to-day detail when required. You will have previous team management experience, strong organisational skills and a practical approach to improving processes. An interest in technology, systems and AI-driven automation is important, while previous experience within an importing or product-based business would be advantageous.
