About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Domestic Assistant to join the Commercial Services team at the University. This is an important role within our residential accommodation team, helping to ensure students and conference guests enjoy a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. As a Domestic Assistant, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across halls of residence and communal areas while delivering excellent customer service to residents and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

Clean and maintain student accommodation, communal kitchens, bathrooms and shared areas.

Sweep, mop, wash and sanitise designated areas using appropriate cleaning equipment.

Empty bins and dispose of waste safely.

Prepare and service rooms for conference delegates and guests.

Carry out deep cleans at the beginning and end of each term.

Report maintenance issues and damage to the relevant teams.

Maintain cleaning stores, equipment and trolleys in a clean and organised condition.

Clean windows and glazed surfaces as required.

Provide a friendly and professional service to residents and visitors.

Adhere to all Health, Safety and Hygiene regulations.

What We're Looking ForEssential Requirements:

Previous domestic or cleaning experience in a similar environment.

Basic hygiene and cleaning knowledge.

Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Reliable, proactive and committed to delivering high standards.

Desirable:

Welsh language skills (any level welcomed).

Experience within student accommodation, hospitality, education, healthcare or similar environments.
