The post holder will work within the Interventional Radiology team, delivering safe, effective and patient-centred care to patientsundergoingawiderangeofdiagnosticandtherapeuticprocedures.Workingcloselywiththemultidisciplinaryteam,theywillassess,plan,implementandevaluatespecialistnursingcarewhilepromotingdignity,equalityandwellbeinginlinewiththeNMCCode.

The role includes providing specialist clinical care,supportingcomplexpatients,assistingwithproceduresandrecovery,andmaintaininghighstandardsofpatientsafetyandgovernance.Thepostholderwillalsocontributetoserviceimprovementthroughparticipationinaudits,researchandqualityimprovementprojects.

In addition, the successful candidate will support the education and development of students, healthcare support workers and junior staff through teaching, supervision and mentorship. They will work closely with nursing,medical,radiographyandalliedhealthcolleaguestoensureseamlesspatientcareandanexcellentpatientexperience.

• Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within Interventional Radiology, assessing,planning,implementingandevaluatingcareforpatientsundergoingdiagnosticandtherapeuticprocedures.

• Deliverspecialistcareincludingpre-assessment,conscioussedation,medicationadministration,post-procedurerecoveryandmanagementofdeterioratingpatients.

• Demonstratespecialistclinicalskillsbyassistingwithprocedures,monitoringpatients,maintainingradiationsafety,andensuringsafepatienthandoversandtransfers.Advocateforpatientsandpromotedignity,compassionandrespect.

• Supportservicedeliveryanddevelopmentbymaintaininghighstandardsofpractice,participatinginaudits,qualityimprovementandresearch,andcontributingtolocalpoliciesandguidelines.

• Provideteaching,supervisionandmentorshiptostudents,healthcaresupportworkersandjuniorstaff,supportingprofessionaldevelopmentandcompetencyachievement.Educatepatients,relativesandcarerstosupportinformeddecision-makingandpositiveexperiences.
