Summary
Early Years Practitioner – Under Twos Unit
Little Stars Childcare
About the role
We are looking for a warm, caring and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to join our wonderful under-twos team at Little Stars Childcare.
We are passionate about providing high-quality childcare in a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where every child feels secure, valued and supported to thrive. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for working with babies and toddlers and understands the importance of building strong, loving relationships during these crucial early years.
Little Stars is an all-year-round setting with a large, supportive team. Our under-twos unit consists of two dedicated rooms – a baby room and a toddler room – alongside an outdoor garden space where children can explore, play and learn.
Key responsibilities
● Provide high-quality care and education, supporting each child’s individual needs, interests and development.
● Create a warm, welcoming and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity, exploration and learning through play.
● Set up engaging activities and learning opportunities, ensuring rooms and resources are organised, safe and ready for the children.
● Observe, assess and support children’s development, maintaining accurate records and identifying opportunities to extend their learning.
● Act as a key person for a group of children, building secure attachments and developing strong relationships with children and their families.
● Work in partnership with parents and carers, sharing information about children’s progress, wellbeing and daily experiences.
● Support children’s personal care routines, including feeding, sleeping, nappy changing and the development of early independence.
● Follow all health and safety, safeguarding and childcare policies and procedures to ensure every child’s safety and wellbeing.
● Work collaboratively with colleagues, contributing positively to the team and helping to maintain a happy, inclusive and supportive nursery environment.
At Little Stars, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life. We are looking for a practitioner who will bring kindness, patience, creativity and enthusiasm to our team, helping us create a place where children feel loved, confident and excited to learn.
