You don't necessarily need to be a qualified Teaching Assistant to make a positive impact in a classroom.

If you've worked in care, youth services, mentoring, coaching or supporting individuals with additional needs, your experience could be incredibly valuable within education.

We're recruiting an Education Support & Development Worker in Exeter to help children and young people overcome learning challenges and develop essential life skills.

Your role will focus on providing practical, emotional and educational support to pupils who need additional guidance.

Responsibilities include:

- Supporting students with SEND on a 1:1 basis.

- Helping pupils engage with lessons and learning activities.

- Supporting children with autism, ADHD and SEMH needs.

- Encouraging positive communication and social development.

- Helping pupils manage emotions and classroom expectations.

- Promoting independence and problem-solving skills.

- Working collaboratively with teachers and support professionals.

- Creating a welcoming and encouraging learning environment.

We're interested in individuals who can demonstrate:

- Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable individuals.

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

- A calm and patient approach.

- Confidence responding to different behaviours and needs.

- Enthusiasm for helping others achieve their potential.

- Reliability, flexibility and a positive attitude.

Previous classroom experience is beneficial but not essential.

An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one is required.

- £14.50 per hour.

- Flexible full-time or part-time working opportunities.

- Immediate start available.

- Valuable experience within specialist education.

- Opportunities for training and career development.

- The chance to make a meaningful difference every day.

Whether you're looking to build a career in education or bring your existing skills into a new environment, this could be your next opportunity.
