Job Advert

We're looking for a customer-focused and compassionate Scheme Manager to join our Sheltered Housing team, supporting residents aged 55 and over to live independently, safely and confidently across our sheltered housing communities in North Liverpool.

This is a rewarding and varied role where you'll be at the heart of helping residents maintain their independence and wellbeing. Working across two sheltered housing schemes, you'll deliver an effective housing management service while building strong relationships with residents, colleagues and partner agencies to ensure residents receive the support they need to thrive.

Alongside the day-to-day management of the schemes, you'll play a key role in fostering vibrant communities, encouraging resident engagement and delivering activities that promote health, wellbeing and social inclusion.

Working arrangements:

This role is based across two sheltered housing schemes in North Liverpool, offering the opportunity to make a positive impact across multiple communities. You'll divide your time between both locations, with regular travel between sites forming part of the role. As part of a wider Sheltered Housing team, there may also be occasions where you'll provide support across other schemes in line with service requirements and business needs.

What you'll be doing:

- Delivering a high-quality housing management service within a sheltered housing environment, ensuring residents receive a responsive and customer-focused service.

- Supporting residents aged 55 and over to maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life through a person-centred approach.

- Carrying out wellbeing checks, risk and needs assessments, resident reviews and support planning activities.

- Supporting residents to access relevant services, including health, social care, welfare support, aids, adaptations and assistive technology.

- Responding to resident enquiries and providing practical advice, guidance and support on a range of housing-related matters.

- Supporting residents to sustain their tenancies, managing low-level tenancy issues and working with specialist teams where required.

- Supporting the lettings process, including assessments, property viewings and welcoming new residents into the scheme.

- Facilitating resident engagement sessions, activities and events that promote wellbeing, independence and social inclusion.

- Using digital tools and communication platforms to engage with residents and share information.

- Ensuring schemes remain safe, secure and compliant through routine inspections, health and safety checks, fire safety testing and contractor liaison.

- Working closely with colleagues, contractors and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for residents.

- Identifying and responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns, incidents and emergency situations, ensuring residents receive the support they need.

What we're looking for:

- Experience working within sheltered housing, housing management, or a similar customer-focused environment.

- Experience supporting older people and vulnerable individuals to maintain their independence, wellbeing and quality of life.

- Experience carrying out assessments, developing support plans and managing a varied caseload.

- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices, risk assessment and supporting vulnerable adults.

- Experience working alongside partner agencies and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for customers.

- The ability to manage challenging situations with confidence, professionalism and sound judgement.

- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with residents, colleagues, contractors and external partners.

- A compassionate, resilient and customer-focused approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting people to live independently.

- Good IT skills and confidence using digital systems to maintain records, communicate effectively and support service delivery.

- A flexible approach to working, with the ability to provide support across other sheltered housing schemes when required to meet service and business needs.

- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.

Interview process:

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a competency-based interview at our Liverpool City Centre office. Interviews will take place on the afternoon of Thursday 12th November and throughout the day on Friday 13th November, providing an opportunity for you to tell us more about your experience, skills and approach to supporting residents, while also learning more about the role, team and wider Torus Group.

Additional Information:

Each successful applicant will be required to complete the following pre-employment checks prior to a start date being agreed:

- Right to work verification.

- Qualification certificate check (where applicable).

- Two satisfactory references.

- Occupational Health questionnaire.

- DBS check (Enhanced).
