Summary
Are you passionate about food and looking to start an exciting career in the catering and hospitality industry? We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Production Chef Apprentice to join our team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional kitchen while working towards a recognised apprenticeship qualification. You will learn how to prepare, cook, and present high-quality dishes whilst developing the skills needed for a successful career as a chef.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of menu items.
Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications.
Maintain high standards of food hygiene, safety, and cleanliness.
Help with stock control, deliveries, and storage of ingredients.
Ensure equipment and work areas are cleaned and maintained.
Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
Learn how to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Comply with all health and safety regulations.
Essential:
A passion for food and cooking.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to learn and take instruction.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Reliable and punctual.
Desirable:
Previous experience in a kitchen environment (not essential).
Basic knowledge of food preparation and hygiene.
As part of the apprenticeship, you will:
Work towards a recognised Production Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship Standard.
Receive support from an experienced mentor and training provider.
Develop skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, health and safety, stock management, and customer service.
Gain valuable industry experience while earning a wage.
Hours: Full-time (including evenings, weekends, and shifts where required)
