About the role
Looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference while others sleep? Join our team at The Paddocks, where you'll provide dedicated overnight support to five fantastic people aged between their 30s and 60s who live in their own individual bungalows and receive person-centred 1:1 support.
As a Waking Night Support Worker, you'll play a vital role in ensuring people feel safe, comfortable, and supported throughout the night. Working alongside another night colleague, you'll carry out hourly wellbeing checks, respond to call bells, provide reassurance when needed, support with personal care and their night-time routines.
The people we support have a range of needs including mild learning disabilities, epilepsy, and early-stage dementia. Communication is important, and while everyone communicates verbally, you may also use tools such as picture boards and "now and next" cards to provide effective support.
This role requires a calm, observant, and caring approach, with the ability to respond confidently to changing needs and ensure each person enjoys a safe and restful night. You'll build meaningful relationships while helping people maintain their independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Typical waking night shifts are 10:00pm - 7:00am, with two members of staff on duty each night.
