Summary

Peripatetic Occupational Health Technician

Location: Leicester and the Midlands

Salary: £26,000 per annum for 37.5 hours per week, with an additional 10-hour weekly overtime allowance

Hours: Up to 47.5 hours per week, including overtime

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Peripatetic Occupational Health Technician to join a team, covering client sites across Leicester and the wider Midlands.

This is a varied, mobile role involving travel to different client sites to deliver health surveillance and occupational health screening services. You will work across a range of environments, helping to support employee health and wellbeing through routine assessments and workplace screening.

Previous occupational health experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a healthcare background, or a strong interest in clinical screening, who is keen to develop a career in occupational health.

Please note: You must have your own car and appropriate business insurance, as regular travel between client sites is an essential part of the role. Depending on client requirements, occasional overnight stays may also be necessary.

Key Responsibilities

•

Deliver health surveillance and occupational health screening services at client sites across Leicester and the Midlands.

•

Carry out a range of routine assessments, which may include audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, blood pressure checks and other health checks, following appropriate training.

•

Support the delivery of a full health surveillance service in line with client requirements and clinical procedures.

•

Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure all employee information is handled confidentially.

•

Prepare, clean and maintain clinical equipment, ensuring it is used in accordance with relevant procedures.

•

Travel independently between client locations and adapt to different workplace environments.

•

Communicate professionally with employees, client representatives and colleagues.

•

Follow relevant clinical protocols, health and safety procedures and data protection requirements.

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, approachable and comfortable working independently across multiple locations.

You will ideally have:

•

An interest in healthcare, occupational health or clinical screening.

•

Previous experience in a healthcare, clinical or patient-facing role, although this is not essential.

•

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

•

Strong attention to detail and accurate record-keeping abilities.

•

The ability to organise your workload and work independently.

•

A flexible approach to travel, working across different client sites and occasional overnight stays when required.

•

A full UK driving licence.

•

Your own reliable car with appropriate business insurance.

Full training will be provided, so previous experience in occupational health or health surveillance is not essential.

Salary and Benefits

•

£26,000 basic annual salary based on a 37.5-hour working week.

•

An additional 10-hour weekly overtime allowance, providing the opportunity to work up to 47.5 hours per week.

•

Full training in occupational health screening and health surveillance.

•

The opportunity to develop specialist clinical skills and gain experience across a range of industries.

•

A varied, mobile role with exposure to different client sites and working environments.
