Telephone Fundraiser

We are seeking a confident, resilient Telephone Fundraiser to work with an international children's charity. Someone who enjoys starting conversations, achieving targets and inspiring lasting support.

Position: Telephone Fundraiser - The internal job title is Legacy Relationship Executive.

Salary: £30,874 per annum

Location: Milton Keynes, hybrid 1-2 days in the office, with occasional UK travel

Hours: 36.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

About the role

Are you a persuasive communicator who enjoys picking up the phone and making things happen? Bring your fundraising or sales experience to a role helping create brighter futures for children.

We are recruiting a Telephone Fundraiser on behalf of an international children's charity to grow its Gifts in Wills programme.

You will proactively call existing supporters, including people who have not previously considered leaving a gift, and help them understand the difference their future support could make.

This role combines clear activity and fundraising targets with thoughtful, personal conversations. You will need the confidence to make an ask, the resilience to handle rejection and the patience to develop relationships over time.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Making outbound calls to introduce Gifts in Wills and generate interest.

- Following up enquiries, mailings and events to turn interest into meaningful next steps.

- Encouraging supporters to request information and consider pledging a gift.

- Managing your own portfolio and planning regular, personalised follow-up.

- Achieving targets for calls, supporter engagement and pledges.

- Maintaining accurate CRM records and attending occasional supporter events.

Hours include at least one evening each week until 8pm and, following an initial period, one Saturday per month. Occasional travel includes events and church presentations.

About you

You have experience in telephone fundraising, face-to-face fundraising, telesales or another target-driven sales role, with evidence of achieving results.

You may be a street, door-to-door or private-site fundraiser looking to move into telephone-based work.

You will bring:

- Confidence initiating conversations and asking people to take action.

- Resilience, self-motivation and a positive response to setbacks.

- Strong listening skills and the ability to respond sensitively to concerns.

- The judgement to recognise when to follow up and when to step back.

- Good organisation, CRM skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Previous legacy fundraising experience is not essential. The ability to build trust and achieve results through respectful conversations is key.

Other roles you may have experience of could include Telephone Fundraiser, Face-to-Face Fundraiser, Charity Fundraiser, Door-to-Door Fundraiser, Telesales Executive, Sales Executive or Supporter Development Executive. #INDNFP
