About Stopover

At Quarriers, we believe every young person deserves the opportunity to build a positive future. Our Stopover Service provides supported accommodation and person-centred support to young people aged 16-25 who are experiencing homelessness and facing a range of complex life challenges.

Your new role

We are looking for compassionate, motivated and resilient

Relief Transition Mentors to join our team and provide flexible cover across the service.

As a Relief Transition Mentor, no two days are the same. You'll work alongside young people to help them develop confidence, build practical life skills, achieve personal goals, and move towards greater independence. You'll play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming environment while supporting individuals through challenging periods in their lives.

What you'll do

  • Build positive, professional relationships with young people.
  • Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs and goals.
  • Support young people to develop independent living skills.
  • Encourage engagement with education, training, employment and community opportunities.
  • Contribute to support planning, reviews and record keeping.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Promote wellbeing, safety and safeguarding at all times.

We're seeking people who are:

  • Able to support young people to achieve their potential.
  • Empathetic, resilient and non-judgemental in their approach.
  • Strong communicators with the ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and responding to changing situations.

Flexibility is essential

As this is a relief opportunity, successful candidates

must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts to support service delivery and cover rota gaps when required. This may include:

  • Early shifts
  • Late shifts
  • Waking night shifts (if applicable)
  • Weekend working
  • Public holidays

Why join Quarriers?

  • Make a genuine difference to young people's lives.
  • Gain valuable experience within a supported accommodation service.
  • Join an experienced and supportive team.
  • Access training and development opportunities.
  • Work for one of Scotland's leading social care charities.

If you're looking for a rewarding role where you can positively impact the lives of young people and support them to build brighter futures, we'd love to hear from you.

Successful candidates will be subject to appropriate PVG and safer recruitment checks.
