Summary

Site Manager - Refurbishment Project (Prison Environment)Location: HM Prison Leyhill- Near Bristol

Duration: 30-60 Weeks

Rate: £250+

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Manager to oversee a refurbishment project within a secure prison environment. This long-term project offers stability and the opportunity to work on a challenging and rewarding scheme within a highly regulated setting.

The Role

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of refurbishment works, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will manage subcontractors, coordinate site activities, and maintain compliance with all security and health & safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily site operations on a live refurbishment project.

Manage subcontractors and direct labour on site.

Ensure works are delivered in accordance with project programmes and quality standards.

Conduct site inspections, toolbox talks, and health & safety briefings.

Liaise with the client, project team, and prison authorities.

Maintain accurate site records and progress reports.

Ensure all activities comply with prison security procedures and site regulations.

Requirements

Proven experience working as a Site Manager on refurbishment or fit-out projects.

SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications.

Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and site compliance.

Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Ability to work within a secure and highly regulated environment.

Desirable

Previous experience working within a prison, MOJ, or other secure environments.

Experience managing refurbishment projects in occupied or live operational facilities.

Security clearance or previous prison vetting would be advantageous.
