Tobbytox is a growing accounting and finance firm providing accountancy, tax and advisory services to businesses and individuals. We also run Virtual Finance Offices for medium-sized organisations, acting as their outsourced finance department. As part of our expansion, we are recruiting an Accountant to join our team. Qualified accountants and finalists are both welcome to apply.
The role
You will manage the accounts, tax and financial reporting for a portfolio of clients, from sole traders and small businesses to medium-sized organisations that rely on us as their finance department. You will advise clients directly and act as the senior finance lead for several of our Virtual Finance Office clients.
Main duties
• Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
• Prepare corporation tax computations and returns, and personal self-assessment tax returns.
• Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts, with variance analysis and commentary for directors.
• Lead the finance function for Virtual Finance Office clients, including budgets, cash flow forecasts, financial controls and board reporting.
• Advise clients on financial performance, tax planning, cash management and compliance.
• Review VAT returns, payroll and bookkeeping prepared by junior team members.
• Make sure all filings meet HMRC and Companies House deadlines and professional standards.
• Identify improvements to client processes and systems.
• Support and mentor junior staff.
