About the role

Net Zero Careers is supporting a business in the electric vehicle charging sector to recruit a Field Service Engineer.

This is an opportunity for a qualified electrician looking to work with new technology and play a part in supporting the UK's transition to zero carbon.

Working within the Technical Operations team, you will help keep an EV charging network running reliably by carrying out commissioning, servicing, fault-finding, repairs and maintenance across charging assets.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out on-site commissioning, servicing, repairs and maintenance of EV charge points.

  • Investigate and troubleshoot charger faults remotely and on-site.

  • Complete planned and reactive maintenance in line with agreed service-level agreements.

  • Help maintain network uptime across AC and DC charging assets.

  • Plan and organise your workload effectively.

  • Work with other field service engineers and the Network Operations team to resolve issues.

  • Follow health and safety procedures and maintain high standards of work.

  • Travel across the UK to support charging infrastructure, with occasional European travel where required.

Essential requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent.

  • Current BS7671 Wiring Regulations certification.

  • 2391 Inspection and Testing qualification, or equivalent.

  • CSCS/ECS card or equivalent health and safety recognition.

  • Experience with electrical inspection, testing and fault-finding.

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK.

  • Good IT skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Previous EV charge point experience is desirable but not essential.

About you

You are a practical, safety-conscious electrician who takes pride in delivering quality work. You have strong troubleshooting skills, communicate well and can manage your workload with minimal supervision.
