Summary
We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading roadworks recovery specialist based in Caldicot, for a skilled HGV Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician seeking a dynamic role within a reputable company. - Weekly rotational shift pattern: week 1 (7:00am-3:30pm), week 2 (8:00am-4:30pm), Monday to Friday
Duties as a HGV Technician:
- Conduct detailed inspections, servicing, and repairs on a variety of commercial vehicles, ensuring compliance with safety regulations
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on HGVs, trailers, and fleet equipment
- Carry out planned maintenance and repairs at client sites, avoiding emergency call-outs
- Support workshop operations with repairs and routine maintenance
- Maintain accurate records of all work completed, including parts used and service documentation
- Follow health and safety standards both on-site and within the workshop environment
Requirements:
- Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or similar
- At least several years of practical post-qualification experience as an HGV Technician
- Strong team player with a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment
- Valid UK driving licence with minimal points; a Class 1 or 2 HGV licence is advantageous but not mandatory
- Good attention to detail and motivated to meet targets
